When people first come into contact with pansexual and bisexual, they are often confused. What is the difference between them? It sounds no different. How to distinguish them? This is indeed the case. In the beginning, I was also confused. In fact, to recognize these two concepts, we need more experience and thinking.
What is Pansexuality?
You may have heard this simple view: because of the growing definition of gender in non-traditional binary senses, pansexual people are people who can be attracted to all of these genders. This statement can’t be wrong, but it’s not all right. Any kind of person is not just a simple definition that can be described.
In my eyes, pansexual does not care about the gender of the other party, only concerned whether the other party is attractive to themselves. This bisexual is still different for gender. Although bisexual and pansexual have become similar and confusing today, I prefer to use pansexual as my identity. Pansexuality is not binary.
The Pansexual Relationship Is Not Polygamy
Just as people think that bisexuality is cheating, this is a common misunderstanding. Pansexuals can also be loyal to feelings, not to being able to participate in monogamous relationships. This misunderstanding is completely wrong. So, stop assuming that we are interested in threesome and other bangs. You still need to politely ask in advance.
Both Pansexual and Bisexual are not a stage and can coexist. When we heard people discussing the contradiction between Pansexuality and Bisexuality, that was not true. This relationship may be closer to both sides of a coin. Many people are proud of being bisexual or pansexual. Compared to gender as an attraction, each one’s interests, hobbies, beliefs, and identities can be used as attractive points of the same level as gender.
Pansexuality will gradually be accepted and redefined, using people’s real life. Whether you support it or not, we must love ourselves.
